We are seeking a skilled and reliable Baker to play a lead role in expanding and preparing our baked offerings.
This is a key production role within Craig’s Bakehouse, responsible for the daily baking and preparation of our core bread, pastry and café/wholesale product range. You will be part of a team producing high-volume, high-quality baked and specialty products for our customers.
This role suits an experienced baker who values consistency, organisation and working as part of a disciplined production kitchen.
About the Role
This is a hands-on baking position suited to someone who takes pride in designing and producing exceptional baked goods, works efficiently under time pressure, and understands the rhythm of a busy bakery environment.
You will be involved in the daily production of Craig’s Bakehouse’s bread, buns, pastries and café bakery items, working to established recipes, batch sheets and production schedules. You will be expected to work efficiently, maintain product quality, and keep pace with a busy commercial bakery environment.
You will work closely with both front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure products are prepared on time, display ready, and replenished as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Daily baking and production of bakery products including:

Breads, rolls and sourdough products

You will be responsible for:

Mixing, scaling, shaping, proving and baking doughs

Following recipes, preparing batch sheets and production schedules

Establishing and maintaining consistent product quality, weight and appearance

Preparing products for café display and wholesale packing

Monitoring fermentation, bake times and oven performance

Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe work area

Supporting stock rotation and ingredient management

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience working as a baker in a commercial or high volume production bakery

This role is central to the customer experience at Craig’s. You’ll be responsible for delivering warm, efficient service across counter sales, table service and daily café setup and clean, while maintaining high standards of presentation and professionalism throughout the day.
About the Role
This is a hands-on front of house position suited to someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in presentation, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
You will be the face of the bakery — serving customers, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring the café is welcoming, organised and ready for service each day.
Key Responsibilities

Providing friendly, efficient customer service at the counter and tables

Serving bakery and café products accurately and professionally

Operating Point of Sale (POS) systems confidently and accurately

Handling cash and electronic transactions

Setting up the bakery and café for daily trade
