Baker
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Baker to play a lead role in expanding and preparing our baked offerings.
This is a key production role within Craig’s Bakehouse, responsible for the daily baking and preparation of our core bread, pastry and café/wholesale product range. You will be part of a team producing high-volume, high-quality baked and specialty products for our customers.
This role suits an experienced baker who values consistency, organisation and working as part of a disciplined production kitchen.
About the Role
This is a hands-on baking position suited to someone who takes pride in designing and producing exceptional baked goods, works efficiently under time pressure, and understands the rhythm of a busy bakery environment.
You will be involved in the daily production of Craig’s Bakehouse’s bread, buns, pastries and café bakery items, working to established recipes, batch sheets and production schedules. You will be expected to work efficiently, maintain product quality, and keep pace with a busy commercial bakery environment.
You will work closely with both front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure products are prepared on time, display ready, and replenished as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Daily baking and production of bakery products including:

Breads, rolls and sourdough products

Sweet buns, pastries and tray-bakes
-
Café and cabinet bakery items
-

You will be responsible for:
-
Mixing, scaling, shaping, proving and baking doughs
-
Following recipes, preparing batch sheets and production schedules
-
Establishing and maintaining consistent product quality, weight and appearance
-
Preparing products for café display and wholesale packing
-
Monitoring fermentation, bake times and oven performance
-
Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe work area
-
Supporting stock rotation and ingredient management
-
Working efficiently during early-morning and high-volume production runs

Contributing to a positive, professional bakery team environment

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
-
Previous experience working as a baker in a commercial or high volume production bakery
-
Sound knowledge of dough handling, fermentation and baking processes
-
Ability to develop and work to production schedules and meet daily volume targets
-
Strong attention to detail and product consistency
-
Physical stamina for early starts and hands-on production work
-
A calm, reliable approach in a fast-paced environment
-
Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and bakery compliance
-
A team-focused mindset and pride in producing consistently exceptional bread and baked goods
